Kinja'd!!!

I've noticed a shaking noise while biking at speed recently, after a tube repair and brake cable adjustment (???) Labor Day (I love Chinese places). This thing fell off my bike; only thing keeping it on the bike is a cable and the chain. What do?

By the way this isn't anything expensive or fancy, so I'm assuming just putting it back on and adjusting it would do.

UPDATE: Found out that the derailleur hinge just fell off. Put a bolt on it, don't really expect miracles with that repair. Another question: Should I replace it?

Take it to a shop, the threads in the derailleur hanger may have exploded, meaning you need a new hangar.

I cant see where it attaches to the frame in this photo but it might be the awkward fitting that hinges from the mount on the frame. Probably best to replace the derailleur.

Yeah, my dad found that the bolt just came loose and fell off. Put on another bolt, though he warns it may be fragile.

before i finished reading i was looking at the picture and thought it just looked like u lost a nut. (hehe) I bet you could just get a new nut or whatever you need and put it all back together although i wouldn;t be surprised if you bent something, which could include your chain and this concludes my amazingly long run on sentence which I could drag out a bit longer but wont.

Yeah thank you random nuts lying around. I'd probably have to actually do self-repair on this, so I might pick up a new derauiller for nicer shifts. Or the problem's the frame.

Also I think the hangar's built-in to the frame, so bad news for me...

Did you get it back on? I couldn't imagine the frame being the issue. You would have had to take a massive dive to damage the frame.

Yeah, I think it just came loose from the hangar.
